T.O.W. – Week 6

What makes a story Newsworthy?

To me, there are many things that make a story news worthy. Too often, I read things in student newspapers, professional newspapers, on local TV and most often on the internet that are just plain pointless. I feel like many people write things for the sake of getting it done. Many times things I read are completely useless. This doesn’t happen in major newspapers or on major channels often, but it does happen.

For something to be newsworthy I think that it needs timeliness, a target audience, and something that is relevant to situations going on. It is importantĀ  to be informed and by simply informing the audience of something that is relevant to them and could change the way they see things is a great way to make a newsworthy story.
